It’s almost that time of year again – ArtPrize!  And, I can't wait.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) is gearing up to host the work of thirteen artists, programs and much more for this year’s festival. You'll find great, approachable art that is intriguing, distinctive and engages your curiosity, and a sense of humor. With the museum’s central location and unique resources, the museum offers a not-to-be-missed immersive experience.

This year, the GRPM’s Van Andel Museum Center will once again open as an outdoor venue only. Artwork will be installed on the grounds near the Grand River, and the front and back lawn.

An outdoor food cart will be stationed near the museum’s carousel to make it easy for visitors to grab a quick bite or beverage while on the move.

During ArtPrize 2013, the Grand Rapids Public Museum will be open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Monday through Sunday. From September 18 through October 6 (ArtPrize official dates), the museum will offer guests half-off general admission rates. Visitors will have the chance to see the museum’s latest exhibition, “Grandmother Power” at this time. Museum Members are offered a special chance to get out of the hustle and bustle in a special “members only” lounge, on the Museum’s third floor.

The Museum’s Curiosity Shop will be open, carrying a variety of ArtPrize merchandise, including wristbands and guidebooks.
