A barbecue place in downtown Grand Rapids is shutting its doors for good after opening in May of 2015.

MLive reports that Horseshoe Smokehouse at 333 Grandville Ave. SW shut its doors for good over the weekend.

The restaurant posted to Facebook, confirming the closing, saying,

We want to thank everyone for their support and business, we are sad to say we are closing the doors."

According to MLive Horseshoe opened in May of 2015 on the bottom floor of the old LaMar Hotel.

The restaurant served lunch and dinner and featured ribs, pork butt, brisket and chicken wings in a casual dining atmosphere.

Horseshoe's website shares that the restaurant was named after the Horseshoe Bar that occupied the location until the 1970s. A hub for jazz and blues in Grand Rapids, the bar played hosts to many great musicians in the 1940s and 50s.

In comments on their Facebook post, Horseshoe said they are closed for business aside from the events they have scheduled, which can be found here.

Other restaurants Grand Rapids has lost this year include Black HeronBD's Mongolian Grill, and Mandarin Chinese Restaurant,
