Be The First To See the Championship Banner the Detroit Lions Just Hung at Ford Field

When the Detroit Lions play host to the Minnesota Vikings to close out the 2023-24 NFL season there will be some new drapery in the rafters at Ford Field.

The Lions have installed their NFC North Champions banner. It's the first new laundry the team has been able to hoist since 1993.

The NFL North Division Champions banner sits next to a banner listing championship seasons in the NFC Central, the former division the team played in before league realignment. The Lions had division titles in 1983, 1991 and 1993.

The banners will be on full display during Sunday's season finale which will be seen by nearly a national audience. The game is in the 'early window' on Fox. There are just two other games on Fox at that time. The New York Jets/New England Patriots game will only be shown in the north east while the Tampa Bay Bucs/Carolina Panthers game will only air in the southeast. The entire midwest, south and west will be treated to the Lions.

Fans who have seen the banners posted on social media couldn't say enough about the rare opportunity for their team to add a banner to the stadium.

And that last comment is where all of Michigan is. The NFC Championship banner and Super Bowl banner are certainly where many of the team's fans are expecting if not this year, then soon.
