Flu season is approaching and now is the time to get immunized.

The DeltaPlex Arena and Family Hope Foundation have partnered to produce the second annual Special Families Fun Fest Saturday, September 28th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DeltaPlex Arena.

Safe Kids West Michigan is having a free safety check TODAY, Thursday, September 12 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Custer Fire Department, located at 2549 E. US 10 in Custer.

This coming Wednesday, September 11 is certainly a significant day in the history of the United States.  For, it was on 9/11/2001, terrorists attacked New York and Washington D.C., bringing the World Trade Center towers down, and damaging the Pentagon.  Several thousand lost their lives as a result, and it's a day that all of America will never forget.

Nicole Cook, Humane Society of West Michigan, brought Robin in to visit for Wet Nose Wednesday. Robin is one and one-half years old, very social, well trained, and would make the right owner a wonderful pet.  She's a sweetie! Nicole also mentioned that coming up, they are offering their Canine Good Citizen Test for all Pit Bulls...

The rate that children in Michigan are getting vaccinated is declining as more parents are choosing to not get their children vaccinated. Michigan's rate of vaccination refusal is the fourth highest in the country. Should parents be allowed to refuse vaccinations for their children?

There are exciting programs for children at the Loutit District Library (LDL) in Grand Haven this summer. This Tuesday, July 16, plants will be a big part of the summer reading program. Plants are blooming is the program led by Youth Librarian Assistant Susan Trittin who will demonstrate how to make a terrarium that grows tiny plants using a two-litter bottle.
