The Sappi paper mill power plant in Muskegon was brought down by explosives on Sunday.

Many gathered to see the demolition, watching as police kept all a safe distance from the site.

WZZM13.com reports:

Some saying it looked more like a tailgating party for the plant's final showing. Lenny Stark says he came to say goodbye. He was an employee for over 25 years saying, "I made a good living there so I'm thankful for that."

Another group had bonfires with a dozen friends talking about their many generations who raised families off of the living they made from the plant.
