Last year ArtPrize debuted Pitch Night.

Pitch Night allowed out-of-town artists an opportunity to receive money to bring their work to ArtPrize.

ArtPrize has added another opportunity in 2014 with a second city for Pitch Night.

ArtPrize is partnering with 21c Museum Hotels to add a second Pitch Night.

Pitch Night is expanding into Cincinnati.

ArtPrize explains:

New for 2014, ArtPrize is expanding Pitch Night to Cincinnati, Ohio. ArtPrize is partnering with 21c Museum Hotels, whose Cincinnati location will host the event. Artists from the area will pitch ideas for installations on Louis Campau Promenade, a public pedestrian walkway and garden that connects major downtown hotels to the Grand Rapids Art Museum and other key ArtPrize locations.

Last year's Pitch Night was held in Minneapolis. Daniel Feinberg and Alexander Hanson’s broken down Chevrolet Suburban covered by stairs won and was installed on the Gillett Bridge in Grand Rapids. View all five finalists from 2013's Pitch Night.

Once again, Minneapolis will host Pitch Night at Walker Art Center with the winner receiving $5,000 and a prime spot on the Gillett Bridge.

Expansion of ArtPrize's Pitch Night makes a lot of sense. Expansion involves more artists and raises the level of art at ArtPrize.

This year's Pitch Night in Cincinnati at 21c Museum Hotel seems like a perfect match. 21c Museum Hotels are a combination of hotel and art museum.

21c Museum Hotels also has locations in Louisville, KY and Bentonville, AR.

If this year's pitch night in Cincinnati is a success, further expansion next year at either of 21c's other locations seems like a good possibility.
