Zimmerman Charged in Trayvon Martin Case
News tonight out of Florida that George Zimmerman will be charged in the murder of Trayvon Martin.
He turned himself in on Wednesday and is now charged with second-degree murder.
As you would expect, he's going to plead not guilty. And his attorney will be asking for Zimmerman to be released on bond; he said it's "unlikely" that request will be granted. He also said that if Zimmerman were out on bond, his safety would be compromised.
A second-degree murder charge means the killing was not premeditated or planned. He could get life in prison.
