Breakthrough! Yuengling Beer is Finally in Michigan! So What?
Michigan is full of craft breweries - Founders, Bell's, New Holland, just to name some of the biggies, and they have helped Grand Rapids win the title as Beer City, U.S.A.

They have also led to the creation of many small craft breweries throughout West Michigan and the entire state who are creating excellent brews.
But for some reason, Michigan beer lovers have had this incredible longing for a beer not available to us in the Mitten State. There has been an almost mythical belief that if only this certain beer were in Michigan our lives would be complete.
Welcome Yuengling Beer. It has arrived! (Can you pronounce it? It's Ying-ling.)
Well, actually, it has been here in cans and bottles for a few months but now it is on tap across the entire peninsula.

So, what's the biggie? I mean, why is this like the second coming of beer in Michigan? Come on, we have fabulous beer brewed right here.
Remember when Coors finally came to Michigan? Oh my, we thought, we have arrived. Now it's....uhh.....6-7.

Yuengling actually is the oldest operating brewing company in America. It comes out of Pottstown, Pennsylvania and they have been brewing since 1829.
When my wife Susie and I were in Florida this past March we stopped at a bar for a drink and I saw Yuengling on tap and I had to have one. Why did I have to do that? I'm not a great beer lover, but there you go, that mythical belief that I had found the golden chalice of beer. I had heard so much about this beer that I couldn't stop myself.
There you go Michigan. Now you too can have a frosty mug of Yuengling!
What did I think?
Pretty good, actually. It was very clean and smooth. For a sometimes beer drinker, it was gentle, (is that a beer term?), so I had another!
