So since you're stuck at home, how about dancing to help our local healthcare professionals.

Through the month of May you can submit a 30second dance video to one of the 10 songs that's picked for the week for a chance to win $10,000.

The app is called The Groove and is available in both the apple and android app stores. It was created by local entrepreneurs Jeff Bennett, who's also creator of NBC's game show 'The Wall' and Michael Ranville.  They partnered with Amway to give 100% of the proceeds made from the competition to the local healthcare heroes.

From the press release, here's how the contest works,

The community-wide competition will run May 1 through May 31, 2020 and will be hosted on an app built in West Michigan by Carnevale. Each week, 10 songs will be announced, and participants will submit :30 second dances. Every dance is worth a donation to the newly created West Michigan Hero Fund, set up by the Hope Network Foundation, and participants can enter multiple times per week.

There will also be a grand prize of $10,000 awarded to the top dancer. The more dances an individual submits, the more votes go toward their grand total. During the fourth and final week of the competition, the top 10 dancers will be revealed‚ and the race to the $10,000 prize begins. Voting ends at midnight on Sunday, May 31, and the winner will be announced the week of June 8.

To vote on or submit a dance video, you just have to be at least 14 years old and live within one of the 13 counties that make up West Michigan.
