The days of playing on over-sized breakfast foods at Woodland Mall are over.  We told you earlier this summer that the mall had plans to replace the 20 something year old play area.

MLive reports that Saturday morning, Woodland Mall had an event where they unveiled a new forest-themed play area. New new play area has a larger footprint than the previous "bacon and eggs" that occupied the space outside of JC Penney's.

The new play area, which is designed for children from toddlers to early elementary, is also two levels and is built for climbing.

The new area also includes ADA-accessible "Ez access climbers" according to MLive, which will allow caregivers to easily get children into the play area.

For parents, they've built a bar-style seating area that faces the play area and has charging ports.  They also are renovating the restrooms and putting in nursing rooms, MLive says.
