A smash and grab burglary at the Woodland Mall was quashed by police, who have two suspects in custody.

Another cell phone store robbery attempt was foiled by Kentwood Police, as they grabbed two young men involved in the robbery at the Woodland Mall early Friday.

The pair was apprehended quickly after the smash and grab at the Mall. One of the teens smashed a glass door to gain access to the mall, while others grabbed cell phones from a kiosk, some jewelry and clothing from a store.

The police traced the stolen phones to an address on the Southeast side, where the two 16 year olds were arrested and charged with the larceny. Police say there may be two more teens at large who were involved.

In a statement, Woodland Mall said:

We are grateful for the fast work of our security firm, Allied Universal, and to Kentwood Police Department, for their quick response to this morning’s break-in. We are cooperating fully with KPD in its investigation and look forward to those responsible for the robberies to be brought to justice.
