That headline caught your attention didn't it!  Amy Chua wrote a book called Battle Hymn Of The Tiger Mom,  and the New York Times just published a story that pretty much sums it all up.  Amy, talks about why this strategy is working for Chinese parents and their children.  When the kids are raised with Chinese values in America they raise above the rest.  Amy believe that rewarding empty behavior and worrying about children's self esteem ultimately ends up hurting them in the long run.  Keep in mind she wrote this as a "memoir" not a parenting guide.  She says it's really all about old fashioned American Values.  Work Hard and Get Ahead!
