As temperatures cool and the leaves change, thousands take to the roads in Michigan to enjoy the beautiful fall colors.

When the time is right, where is your favorite place in Michigan for a fall color tour?

The Weather Channel says U.S. 31 along Lake Huron in Michigan is one of the country's best places for a fall color tour.  Their tour along U.S. 31 covers over 200 miles.

The West Michigan Tourist Association stays on top of the best times to visit and where to go to see the most color, not just in West Michigan, but across the entire state.

If I could go anywhere in the state, I'd pick the Western Upper Peninsula.  The combination of the Porcupine Mountains, the lakeshore, and multiple waterfalls is tough to beat.  I'd take a drive similar to the one shown on this map at michigan.org.

Of course, there are plenty of great drives right here in our own West Michigan backyard too.
