I get the idea of parking meters. Yah, yah, yah...parking meters keep downtown workers from hogging all the good spots. I get that. But, come on...how much is enough. Stupid me, I forgot my parking lot access card and left my car at a curbside meter. Seven hours later I leave work and find not one, but TWO parking tickets on my windshield. Is it really necessary to issue two on the same car. I haven't looked at each to see how much time elapsed between tickets, but really...two tickets. Two tickets at $20 each. Even if I'd fed the meter quarters every seven minutes I would have paid around 15 bucks. A single ticket would have penalized me an additional five bucks. Fair enough. I was dumb enough to forget, etc. I'm good with five bucks. An additional $20? Nice cash grab.

By the way, Oklahoma City was first in America to use parking meters. Here is a short video from back in the day.
