What Is Michigan’s Favorite Style Of Beer?
We just went through a round of CBS mania for Founder's latest Bourbon Barrel Stout, but stout is NOT our favorite style of beer here in Michigan.
So what is?
A group called the Business Broker Network thought it would be a good idea to find out what kind of beer reigned supreme in each state, and was kind enough to share those findings with the world. Not one to let a good bit of knowledge pass us by, we thought it would be worth sharing with you.
They reached their conclusions by compiling data from Google for the most searched styles by state.
Michigan's favorite style of beer is a lager. A taste we share with Georgia, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania and South Dakota.
Popular lagers include Stella Artois, Miller, Beck's, Corona and Heineken. The more better known craft lagers from Michigan include Bell's Lager of the Lakes, Atwater's Dirty Blonde, and Founder's Dissenter.
By the way, your dad knew what was what because old school Stroh's is also a lager.
The only state that found Stout to be their favorite style was Wisconsin.
The rest of the field broke down like this:
