West Michigan Election Results: May 2, 2017
West Michigan hit the polls Tuesday voting on dozens of issues including local school millages and one Kent County-wide school millage.

Voters in Kent and Ottawa county passed every school millage issue on the ballot. This includes Byron Center, Allendale, Coopersville, Grand Haven, Holland, Hudsonville, Jenison and West Ottawa.
Additional measures that passed in Kent and Ottawa counties include:
- The Kent County-wide, Kent Intermediate School District Millage
- Cannon Township Trail and Recreation Millage
- Grand Haven Township Council on Aging Millage
- City of Wyoming Library and Park Millage
- Zeeland Township Fire Millage
- Zeeland Township Road Millage
The only measure that didn't pass in Kent or Ottawa counties is the Allendale Township Zoning proposition. It failed 1,654 - 424 (80% to 20%). The zoning change would have allowed for more student housing, it read:
Shall Ordinance No. 2016 - 17, adopted by the Allendale Charter Township Board on November 14, 2016, amending the Allendale Charter Township Zoning Ordinance and Map by including within the R-3, Low Density Multiple Family Residential District, certain lands commonly known as 6138 Lake Michigan Drive, Allendale, Michigan, when such lands were previously included within the R-1, Low Density One-Family Residential District, take effect?
Allendale's school bond proposal received the lowest support among all of the Ottawa County proposals that passed with 57 percent showing their support. All other Ottawa County measures received at least 70 percent support.
In Kent County, the Kent Intermediate School District Millage was the closest with 54 percent voting in support.
