Mother Nature has been very good to West Michigan, well at least the boaters and those hoping for an early Spring.  I still hear some winter snow and ice fans complaining that they were'nt able to get out and enjoy the Winter Wonderland in Michigan this past season.  Oh well, you'll get no sympathy from me.  Every winter I have lived here has been pretty brutal, winter 2010/2011 being the worst!  The way I look at it is I deserved a break from that stuff.  Sure, people will say "Kim, if you don't like winter you're living in the wrong place."  I do often ask myself that same question.  But my response has always been, the spring, summer and fall more than makes up for it.

There's already a lot of activity at Michigan's Adventure and it doesn't officially open till May 24th.   Boaters in Whitehall have their boats already in their slips because there is no ice.  And, if you're a Lighthouse lover, you'll  have a new event this year to celebrate too.   On June 2 and 3 the Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association will hold its' inaugural Michigan's West Coast Lighthouse Festival.  The event will offer bus trips, lake cruises, and other special events from Manistee to Whitehall.  Let the Michigan tourism season begin, a month eary.
