Am I suddenly going to lose out on getting my favorite sweet treat?

The Wendy's Frosty is a little bit of heaven in my book. But, I'm shocked to hear that Wendy's will be closing stores, 140 of them, and I'm worried about Michigan, and especially Grand Rapids.

We have seven Wendy's in Grand Rapids, and Wendy's has said they will close at least 140 by the end of the year. Yikes!

Sad news for sure, but don't get all in a twit Wendy's fans, this isn't necessarily bad news.

Fastcompany.com reported that there is a silver lining here. Wendy's is not just closing stores to be gone for ever. They are closing underperforming stores, meaning they are not bringing in enough money, and are outdated since the chain began 55 years ago.

Replacing them with new stores at what they consider better locations is the best plan they figure. So you're saying there is still a chance.....for that Frosty!

Wendy's, in fact, is growing and is the second largest hamburger chain based on revenue, in the United States. They just added 500 stores in the past two years.

Wendy's numbers are awesome. The Lansing State Journal reports they have over 7,100 locations worldwide with over 6,000 just in the United States.

Top Wendy's executives still will not confirm which locations will close, and that includes Michigan and Grand Rapids. Overall, there are 243 Wendy's locations all across Michigan including the Upper Peninsula, many of which are actually owned by local restaurant company, Meritage Hospitality Group, Inc., so how the closings will affect our local stores isn't known.

Wendy's did say they won't just dump on Michigan, but spread the closures across the country.
