Want to help West Michigan? Mayor’s Grand River Clean Up Is Seeking Volunteers

Even though, it is not Earth Day. We need to take part in helping take care of the community around us.

Well, it is looking for volunteers to help clean up for the 19th annual Mayor's Grand River Cleanup.

The Mayor's Grand River Cleanup is a weeklong event starting on September 10th with a kickoff celebration at the Gillett Bridge.

In need of food at the event?

No worries! There will be a lunch and a beer garden for anyone who is 21 and older.

The mayors from Grand Rapids, Kentwood, Grandville, and other communities will be at the kickoff event as well.

The free event has a jam-packed schedule till 2 PM.

9:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Check-in, light snacks, and coffee

9:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Welcome speeches from mayors & WMEAC

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Clean up the Grand River

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch for everyone & a beer garden for 21+

Please wear walking shoes so you can be comfy.

If you have a group of five or more, you should sign up to adopt a site to clean any time you want during the week.

No need to bring anything with you for the clean-up. WMEAC will be providing you with all of the cleaning materials you will need.
