For anyone who has hair, you'll be kind of sad to hear that Vidal Sassoon passed away earlier today.

I didn't know much about him other than that many people use his products to make their hair look great (and that many people had inhaled the spray coming from aerosol cans and pump bottles all over the world).

The story goes, his mom had a premonition that he would do something with hair and styling and directed him toward an apprenticeship in London when he was 14.

He pioneered easy-to-care-for hair and the "wash and wear" look beginning in the '60s.

He was 84.
