The Mecosta County Sheriff's Office took the opportunity to turn a hot tip on a stolen vehicle into a training exercise to help the department improve their skills in diving, locating, and removing a vehicle that is submerged in water.

Sonar was used to first locate the vehicle that was found in 17 feet of water. Divers discovered the van had been in Rogers Pond for quite some time.
