Wednesday morning, I began a search looking for the woman who closed the Who concert at Van Andel Arena with a searing violin solo to conclude 'Baba O'Riley'.

And with the help of some listeners and the original web site we posted to, we found out who she was.

I was thinking she may have been local, based on a press release the band had issued saying the show would feature local symphony members. That was the case, however, the violinist was hand picked for the solo after working with lead singer Roger Daltrey on his previous 'Tommy' tour.

The violinist in question is Katie Jacoby, who has quite the pedigree, having played on tours with Foreigner, Blondie and Jon Anderson of Yes fame.

Special thanks to listeners Izzy, Mike and the web site Best Classic Bands for their help.

And now here's some video of her solo from a closer point of view for you.
