Traveling For the 4th? So Are Thousands of Others So Here Are Some Tips
Are you traveling for the 4th of July weekend? Quite possibly you left yesterday for the cottage, the lake, Northern Michigan, wherever. And, if you are busting out of town for the long weekend, experts say, have a strategy.
First of all, the 4th of July weekend can be the most dangerous on the road. More accidents happen during the 4th holiday than even New Year's. So, watch out.
As for your road traveling, ABC News reported the phone app, WAZE, said don't get in your car between 2 and 5 p.m. on Friday. Well, that's just great, because that's exactly when we did. How was the traffic? SLOW, jammed, however, we got there in one piece.
But, you say, what about today, Saturday. Traffic is expected to be worse than yesterday between 3 and 6 p.m. That's what you wanted to hear, right?
The good news is that coming home may be somewhat of a breeze, that is if you leave Monday. That good old WAZE app says traffic volumes could be down by as much as 92 percent on Monday.
Happy 4th! And, be safe!
