“Thoroughly Modern Millie” Opens at Civic Theatre Next Week
What does it take for a girl to be modern in 1922 New York? The answer is simple, become a flapper, and, star in a great show at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.
Straight off the bus from Kansas, Millie Dillmount is searching for a new life and the draw of all things modern: bobbed hair, short hemlines, jazz music, and women entering the workforce. She is ready for a modern life but is this new life and a quest for love ready for her? We'll all find out when "Thoroughly Modern Millie" opens at Civic next Friday for a 2-week run.
This 2002 winner of six Tony® Awards including Best Musical, will have you tapping your feet and laughing in your seat. Based on the 1967 Academy Award®-winning movie, this stage version puts some new glitz into the 20’s with new songs and fantastic dance numbers.
Directed by Allyson Paris, "Thoroughly Modern Millie" is a huge tap show, so Civic knows you'll be tapping down the aisles after the show.
