This Could Be West Michigan’s Last Season For S.S Badger Ferry

Have you ever riden the S.S Badger, or should I say has your automobile ever riden the S. S Badger across Lake Michigan?

Well, the waters are looking a little rough for her.  The company that owns the S.S Badger might be forced to down operations beginning in 2013.  You see the Badger is the last coal operated passenger vessel operating in the US and that is the issue.  The S.S Badger provides 200 jobs...but remnant coal ash in Lake Michigan has become an issue.  The bill that allowed its operation is set to expire soon and unless government decides to reinstate it the S.S Badger will be put out of commission.
