Um, I'm not liking this news, because it's too close to home. Michigan has 3 cases state health officials are investigating which could turn out to be the Novel Coronavirus 2019, the virus at the center of the outbreak in Wuhan, China.

According to ClickonDetroit, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services are testing three people in the southeast part of the state.  Two of the people being tested live in Washtenaw County and the other in Macomb County.

MDHHS says they're sending the specimen collected to the CDC for testing, but because so many states are doing the same thing with possibly infected people, they have no idea how long it will take to get the results back.

The patients are "self-isolated" and being monitored as is anyone who was in contact with them, so far the cases seem to be showing only mild illness, ClickonDetroit reports.

Curious about the Novel Coronavirus 2019?  ClickonDetroit explains,

Coronaviruses are a large group of viruses common among animals and humans. In rare cases, the virus can be transmitted from animals to humans. This novel coronavirus is a newly discovered version that has not been previously detected in animals or humans. The source is not yet known.

The symptoms of those who are confirmed to have the illness say at the beginning it is just a mild to severe respiratory infection, with fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

If you've been to Wuhan, China or know anyone who has been, you should call your doctor or see a physician and get tested. ClickonDetroit says symptoms show up 2 to 14 days after exposure.

WOODTV reported earlier that in Chicago they confirmed the second U.S. case of the virus. A lady in her 60's was diagnosed four days after she returned from China.  WOODTV says when she felt sick, she called her doctor and they have now hospitalized to keep the infection from spreading. Officials also said she had minimal contact with others but will be monitoring those she did come into contact with.
