As if the freezing rain hadn't already done enough damage and knocking out power for thousands in West Michigan, the high winds have only made this situation worse.

According to WOOD, Consumers Energy has now pushed back the day when power will be restored to late Sunday but even others won't get power back until Monday.

Consumers have had to bring in crews from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Tennessee to help local crews get power restored.

  • Kent - 86,482
  • Mecosta - 419

  • Newaygo - 870
  • Ottawa - 5,271
  • Van Buren - 904

There are nearly 160,000 Michiganders without power and if you or anyone you know need a place to warm up, contact 211 for information regarding shelters in your area.

If you find a downed power line call 911 to let authorities know then immediately contact Consumers Power at 800-477-5050.

Also if you are driving be on the look out for crews working near roads to restore power, especially in these white out conditions.
