After some severe weather in the early hours of Friday morning, over 140,000 West and Central Michigan Consumers Energy customers are without power.

Large areas of East Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Grandville, Allendale, and Byron Center - just to name a few - are almost completely without power.  As of 5:30 am this morning, Consumers Energy estimates that most of the outages will be repaired sometime this morning or afternoon, but not all outages have a restore time yet.

The storm had 60-70 mph winds and caused downed trees and powerlines all across the storms path through West Michigan.

This will affect your morning commute, so be careful when you approach intersections without power.  Keep in mind, these intersections without power DO NOT turn into 4-way stops.
