Tears for Fears has announced that they are postponing their US summer dates "due to unforeseen and unhappy circumstances."

Full refunds are now available for the Meijer Gardens show which was scheduled for June 6.

Tears for Fears’ Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith regrettably announce today that they have to postpone their summer run of dates in the US to include theatres and festivals, due to family illness.

The band says in a joint statement: “It’s with great disappointment that we have to postpone our US summer dates due to unforeseen and unhappy circumstances. We thank our fans for their understanding and hope to get back on the road soon.”

Meijer Gardens explains the options for ticket holders:

Please note that although Tears for Fears has stated the tour is postponed, a new date for the concert has not been established. Every effort will be made to reschedule the concert.

If you purchased tickets to this concert, you have two options:

  • First, you may obtain a full refund by calling Star Tickets at 1-800-585-3737 or by emailing customerservice@startickets.com including your order number, first and last name to receive a refund.
  • Second, you may hold on to your ticket and if the show is rescheduled for a new date, your ticket will still be honored. If the concert is unable to be rescheduled, a full refund will be issued at a later date.
