It started out as an experiment on January 25th, 1945. Grand Rapids, MI became the first city in the U.S. to to add fluoride to the water to prevent tooth decay.
The 'Sprinkling Ban' goes into effect Tuesday, August 11th, it's only expected to last two weeks while the city does some repairs to their water system.
