The Grand Rapids Symphony Women’s Committee this week will unveil “Encore!” a beautiful new coffee table book celebrating the arts, life and food in Grand Rapids.

I had planned on heading out to Lake Michigan to get some pictures of the huge waves which came as a result of Hurricane Sandy.  But when I saw the sand whipping around on TV at 60 mph, I changed my mind and decided to take photos at the Opera instead.  From one storm to another, but as it turned out it was a good move! A very cool event is happening at the end of this month and I'm hoping all of you will be there. Music From The Heart, an event held each year for Dwelling Place, will be at the Masonic Center, 233 E. Opera?  Who knew? I went to the Dress rehearsal of The Barber of Seville presented by Opera Grand Rapids.  It was my first time.  Up until the cast took their final bows and the curtain closed, I wasn't sure I'd make til the very end.  But I'm glad I did...
