Another great year of ArtPrize in Grand Rapids has concluded. Some of this year's artists and entries will be remembered for years to come, just like we remember Adonna Khare's "Elephants" from 2012.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is putting an end to its elephant acts. The circus' parent company, Feld Entertainment, told The Associated Press exclusively that the acts will be phased out completely by 2018. Widespread public concern about how the animals are treated led to Feld's decision.

Adonna Khare won ArtPrize 2012 with "Elephants", a 36 x 8 foot pencil drawing. This Friday and Saturday, Khare will be sharing her skills as she hosts a drawing workshop at GRAM.

The world's most popular sport isn't just for human. In addition to robots, animals are also quite smitten with the sport, perhaps because it doesn't require opposable thumbs.
