Research conducted recently show that obese, white, women, are less  likely than normal-weight white women or blacks of any weight or gender to  seek potentially life-saving colon cancer screenings.  The reluctance on their part is particularly serious because obesity is associated  with a higher risk for colon cancer and an increased risk of death from the disease...

My birthday was yesterday.  And if you haven't heard, March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month. So in celebrating the year of my birth, I also wanted to celbrate living another year cancer free.  It was on June 25th, 2009 (the same day that Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died), that I had my Colon Cancer Surgery performed by Dr. Nadav Dujovny from the Ferguson Clinic.

Sure wish this would have been available when I was dignosed with Colon Cancer in 2009.  I was always so afraid to have a colonoscopy.  I was afraid of the proceedure, the unknown.  I was afraid of the anesthesia.  I was afraid of the whole thought of the thing...

Don't wait for a tragedy to live your life.  Just go out there and live it now!  Those were the words, today, that jumped out at me while I was watching The Talk. Marissa Jaret Winokur, was celebrating her 10 Year Anniversary of being cancer free.
