The "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin is coming to Grand Rapids at DeVos Performance Hall on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.

I want you to meet a sassy six-year old, Johanna Colon, who just became a huge viral sensation for her recent dance recital performance of Aretha Franklin's "Respect."

Aretha Franklin is undoubtedly the Queen of Soul, a living legend, a true vocal talent. So it only made sense that she was asked her opinion of the current crop of pop girls during her interview with the Wall Street Journal. Her answers for some (Adele, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys) were positive, fair judgments. Her reaction to others, however -- not so kind.

Rhythm and blues music legends Aretha Franklin and Earth, Wind & Fire are releasing new music today. "Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics" finds the Queen of Soul performing ten cover versions of songs made famous by other great women singers. Meanwhile, Earth, Wind & Fire is out with its first Christmas album, "Holiday."

The L.C. Walker Arena and Event Center announced that the Aretha Franklin concert scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled. Customers who purchased tickets to the Aug. 16 show will be issued full refunds.

The "Queen of Soul", Aretha Franklin, will perform in Muskegon for the first time almost 20 years this summer.
