The next time you roll into a Taco Bell drive-thru your favorite item might not be on the menu.

There were rumors circulating the internet that Taco Bell was getting rid of some of its most popular menu items such as their nachos and Quesaritos, well... those rumors turned out to be true. Taco Bell confirmed in a news release that they were "revamping" their menu and that includes getting rid of 12 items. The change officially goes into effect on August 13.

They say the move comes after the pandemic has forced them to do things differently and

...to ensure an easy and fast ordering experience for our guests and team members, while simultaneously opening up opportunities for even more innovation.

You have just a few weeks to enjoy some of your favorites before they disappear and that includes:

  • Grilled Steak Soft Taco
  • 7-Layer Burrito
  • Nachos Supreme
  • Beefy Fritos Burrito
  • Spicy Tostada
  • Triple Layer Nachos
  • Spicy Potato Soft Taco
  • Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
  • Loaded Grillers (Cheesy Potato, Beefy Nacho)
  • Chips & Dips (Guacamole and Pico de Gallo)
  • (Breakfast) Mini Skillet Bowl

Big blow if your favorite thing was cheesy potatoes at 2 a.m. because there will not be any trace of potatoes whatsoever on the menu moving forward. But then again, Taco Bell isn't necessarily my go-to for potatoes. But Nachos Supreme... tostada??... Nooo!! I've also read posts from people expressing their grief over the 7-Layer Burrito.

Another blow, is that the fan-favorite Quesarito won't be on the menu anymore BUT you'll still be able to order it on their app or website ahead of time.

Not all is abyss though as the fast-food chain did announce some good news such as new additions including the $5 Grande Nachos Box

...a layer of tortilla chips, a double serving of seasoned beef, refried beans, nacho cheese sauce, three-cheese blend, pico de gallo, guacamole and reduced-fat sour cream. The box, which comes complete with a medium drink, is returning for a limited time and is available for pick-up, delivery, and in our app.

A Beef Burrito will also become a permanent part of the TBell menu which will only cost $1.

Taco Bell ensures that even though some vegetarian items are off the menu, those who don't want meat will still be able to customize their food and switch meat for beans on any item. They also say that they'll bring back some of these classics on a limited-time basis.
