Street And Parking Lot Closures For Thursday’s Trump Rally

President Donald J. Trump will be holding a rally at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids on Thursday and that means there will be several street and parking lot closures the day of the event.

The event will start at 7pm, but the street and parking lot closures will begin earlier in the day around 2:30pm.

The street closures are expected to begin at 2:30pm and last until about 8:30pm.

• Fulton Street West from Ottawa to Ionia will be closed
• Weston Street SW, west of Ionia will be closed
• Oakes Street SW from Ottawa to Ionia will be closed
• Ottawa Avenue SW from Fulton to Oakes will be closed

Two ramps will be closing starting Wednesday night at Midnight and lasting through Midnight on Thursday.  All access card holders will have their cards activated for the Louis Campau ramp on Monroe Avenue NW and McConnell Ionia lot on McConnell Street SW during that time.

• The Area 2 lot on Oakes Street SW will be closed
• The Area 3 lot on Ionia Avenue SW will be closed

And finally, metered parking will not be allowed on the following streets starting at 2:30pm:

• Ottawa Avenue NW between Oakes and Fulton
• Oakes Street SW between Grandville and Market
• Weston Street SW between Ottawa and Grandville
• Weston Street SW west of Ionia
• Lot at Fulton Street SW and Ionia

About 10,000 to 12,000 people are expected to be in attendance, so be prepared for heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic around the arena Thursday night.
