Excellent Work Sparta Police Department! They Got Their Man!

I have written about scams several times with warnings that these "bad actors" are all over the place, convincing people they're in need, or from their bank, or the IRS. So many people bite on this and lose millions every year.

We never hear about results, just warnings. That is until now.

Excellent Police work from our very own Sparta, Michigan Police Department and the Douglas, Georgia Police Department, have led to solving a case and an arrest!

Sparta PD posted this on their Facebook page:

"We wanted to pass along this excellent update on a case we worked with the Douglas (Georgia) Police Department! We are thrilled that we were able to work with Douglas PD to investigate a fraud case. They worked hard and fast to identify the person who was able to spend money from victims here in Sparta, down in Georgia - and now that person has been arrested."

THEY GOT THE BAD GUY!

The Douglas Police Department explained that "the scammed victims actually gave up bank account information, bank login, account and transaction card info to get money."

HOW DID THIS GO DOWN?

The Douglas PD wrote:

"The result of this investigation led to multiple felony arrest warrants and search warrants. The Coffee County Sheriff's Office, the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit, and the Douglas Police Department's Special Response Team executed a search warrant on the primary suspect's known residence. Following this, the suspect was found to have just left Douglas and was believed to be in Florida, where the Coffee County Sheriff's Office coordinated with Florida Highway Patrol to locate and arrest the suspect."
