Most Stolen Items From Walmart? Here are Top 10!
Shoplifting is a constant problem at all retailers. People walking are out of stores with things they either need or can resell. Who is the biggest loser in all of this?
Walmart!
Last year, 2025, Walmart lost $7.4 Billion dollars due to theft!
We know that Walmart has reduced or eliminated self-checkout lanes because that is the most productive spot for shoplifting. One scanned item, one item for me, one scanned item, another item for me, and so on. Get my drift? They have also closed many stores where theft was too great to operate safely.

WHAT ARE PEOPLE STEALING?
According to the website Oldest.org, people are walking out with some surprising things, and those shoplifters range "from desperate parents, to organized crime rings. Shoplifters target items that are easy to conceal, essential to daily life, or valuable enough to resell quickly."
Here are the top 10 from Oldest.org:
10. CELL PHONE ACCESSORIES
They are easy to hide, and easy to resell. Watch out because Facebook Marketplace is a perfect place for them to hide and resell!
9. CLOTHING AND APPAREL
Simply head to the fitting room to try it on, and out of the store you go with new items under your clothing.
8. ENERGY DRINKS
Red Bull and Monster drinks are the key items taken here, and easily resold to friends.
7.TOYS AND COLLECTABLES
Pokemon and Hot Wheels seem to be the hottest items taken, and can fetch serious money when resold.
6. OFFICE AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Pens, markers, etc. walk out of the store every day taken by students and parents.
5. TOILET PAPER
Are you kidding? Toilet Paper? The Pandemic is over, isn't it? Seems you can conceal some toilet paper but boy will you walk funny. Some bold thieves are just rolling carts out of the store full of the white stuff. I guess when you gotta go, you gotta run out the door.
4. COFFEE
You wouldn't think of coffee, but prices are rising every day so some people are grabbing what they can.
3. POWERS TOOLS AND HOME IMPROVEMENT ITEMS
I know, I know, "Is that a drill in your pocket or..." (You finish the line) Actually, drills, blades, battery packs and the like can bring big bucks on the black market.
2. HEALTH AND BEAUTY PRODUCTS
Deodorants, vitamins, shampoos, and skincare items, the list goes on. Usually they are small and can be hidden easily.
1. VIDEO GAMES AND MEDIA
Usually these things are locked behind display doors, but somehow they continue to leave the store unpaid for. With a high resale value, out they go!
It's very sad for the rest of us, but as thefts continue, I'll bet we see more locked cases and video monitoring everywhere.
