We know that Walmart has reduced or eliminated self-checkout lanes because that is the most productive spot for shoplifting. One scanned item, one item for me, one  scanned item, another item for me, and so on. Get my drift? They have also closed many stores where theft was too great to operate safely.

Deodorants, vitamins, shampoos, and skincare items, the list goes on. Usually they are small and can be hidden easily.

Usually these things are locked behind display doors, but somehow they continue to leave the store unpaid for. With a high resale value, out they go!

It's very sad for the rest of us, but as thefts continue, I'll bet we see more locked cases and video monitoring everywhere.
