An accident in Ottawa County Monday morning closed 68th Avenue and sent 5 people to the hospital, according to Fox 17.

Ottawa Co Sheriff told Fox 17 that the accident was caused by a 65-year-old lady who lost control of her car while driving south on 68th Avenue, as she approached slowed traffic, she then veered into oncoming traffic injuring the four occupants northbound vehicle.

Aero-Med flew the 65-year-old Grand Rapids Man, who was the driver of the vehicle that was struck to the hospital while his passengers, a 64-year-old woman, a 12-year-old girl, and an 8-year-old girl were taken to the hospital by ambulance.  The other driver was taken to the hospital as well, according to Fox 17.

The accident has had 68th Ave closed between Lincoln and Osborne Streets.
