Reliving One of Grand Rapids’ Most Beautiful Spring Sunsets This Week
The rain and thunderstorms that rolled through here Wednesday morning and early afternoon left a lot of water behind and many of us worried because the National Weather Service had issued a threat of tornados. However, the good news was we only had monster cracks of thunder from the lightning, tons of rain and wind, but fortunately the tornados never developed here. Whew!
What did happen was that the storm line ran through here like a freight train clearing out very quickly leaving us with one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen in a long time. Were you outside? Did you take a look? So breathtaking.
And with that, it was the first full moon of the spring called the Pink Moon. It was also so beautiful as it rose in the sky at dusk.
What an incredible treat after all the wacky weather we have had lately. Winter of course was full of ups and downs, snow, hail, rain, thunderstorms, more snow, to be followed by severe weather. Two words.....stop it! Well, it did finally.
Then, this!
We have endured enough weather wise, right? Yes, we have and the weather forecast is a good one through this special weekend.
For Christians it's Easter weekend, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s the culmination of Holy Week.
For Jews it's Passover, a major Jewish holiday that celebrates the Biblical story of the Israelites' escape from slavery in Egypt.
And this weekend as well, Muslims around the world mark another Friday, their weekly holiday, within the month of Ramadan, which began on April 2 and ends on May 2.
What an absolute treat!
We deserve sunshine in our lives, and now we have it.
