Though we don't have and IKEA store here in West Michigan, I know many who have traveled to the closest stores to buy furniture and other things from the popular store, so I thought I should pass this information along.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of IKEA children’s swings stating that they pose a fall hazard.

The recall affects IKEA ‘GUNGGUNG’ Children’s Swings. Officials say that the suspension fittings can break causing a child to fall from the swing, posing a risk of serious injury. Roughly 2,000 units in the United States are impacted by this recall. There have been four reports worldwide including one in Germany, two in Austria and one in Canada of the suspension fittings breaking in use.

Consumers should immediately take down the swing to prevent use by children and return it to any IKEA store for a full refund. Proof of purchase is not required to receive a full refund for the return.

Consumers can also contact IKEA for further informationtoll-free at (888) 966-4532 anytime or online at www.ikea-usa.com and click on the recall link at the top of the page for more information.
