Here at The River, we're always keeping an eye out for things that may affect you.

The latest recall we've seen is for GM vehicles. It affects the 2012 and 2013 Chevy Malibu Eco, Buick LaCrosse and Buick Regal with "eAssist."  The problem is with a generator control module.

It's important to note that NO injuries or crashes have been reported as a result of the fires.

GM says most of the problems occurred within the first 1,000 miles of operation.  If you own one of these models, you may experience a gradual loss of battery charge and see the malfunction indicator light up.  If you continue to drive, the engine may stall or fail to start.  There is also potential for a fire in the trunk.

You may contact GM at 1-800-521-7300. The recall campaign number is 13136.
