Planned Power Outage in Kent and Ottawa Counties This Weekend
Thousands of residents in Kent and Ottawa counties should prepare for a two-hour power outage on Saturday, October 20.
The outage will run along Remembrance Rd. and surrounding streets. It will cover several areas including parts of Kent and Ottawa counties, Walker and Grand Rapids.
The outage is needed to repair substation equipment.
Don't worry, the outage is not planned to take place during the Michigan/Michigan State game. The outage is planned for 2:00 a.m. - 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018. If conditions make it necessary to reschedule the work, the outage will be moved to 2:00 a.m. - 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018.
Many will sleep through the outage with no complications, but if you have a morning appointment you may want to check you alarm clock's batteries. Those planning a late night out or a late night binge-watching the new season of Making a Murderer (it premieres on Friday, October 19) will want to be aware of the outage and charge devices accordingly.
