This is a cool story of #PeopleDoingGood from the Upper Peninsula.

It happened in Manistique when school teacher Jodi LaFreniere got an alert on her phone from her Ring doorbell. According to CNN, she thought it was weird to have activity at her house because her fiance was in Alaska.  So when she checked the video, she saw her regular FedEx driver, Melvin Marlett, shoveling her porch.

Jodi told CNN that she saw him walking up to the door with a package, but when he saw the porch was snow-covered, he didn't hesitate to grab the shovel next to the front door and clear off a path. She says that her fiance is usually home and talks to Melvin when he delivers packages, so she already knew he was a good guy.

CNN says that Melvin has been with FedEx for 23 years and that the company has noticed what he. A spokesperson for FedEx, Heather Wilson, told the news outlet,

"FedEx is proud of the many contributions our team members make to the communities we serve every day. We commend our courier, Mel Marlett, who went above and beyond to help shovel snow for our customer while making a delivery."

While Jodi hasn't spoken face to face with Melvin, she has through a friend on Facebook and thanked him for being so thoughtful.

Melvin's comment to CNN on the whole thing is how we all should live,

"I would hope it's something that anybody would have done. If you take care of your customers, they take care of you."
