Paul McCartney concerts break records wherever they play, and Grand Rapids is no different. The Van Andel Arena McCartney concert broke venue sales records to become the highest grossing show in its 20 year history. It was THE hottest ticket in town!

To date, Paul McCartney’s “One on One” Tour topped the previously highest grossing show, Fleetwood Mac in 2015, placing McCartney firmly at the top of list. With the venue at capacity on August 15, McCartney made sure to etch his name into the annals of arena history with a nearly three-hour set packed with some of the greatest songs ever written and a dazzling stage design to round out the mind-blowing experience.

Van Andel Arena proclaimed it would “go big” in celebration of its 20th anniversary this year, and it sure has followed through by bringing some of the biggest names to Grand Rapids in 2016. The concert was a partnership with Marshall Arts USA and Olympia Entertainment.

It sure has been a good year for the arena. Billboard recently ranked the arena as the highest grossing venue in the United States among venues with a capacity between 10,001 and 15,000 for mid-year 2016, and a show like McCartney’s will help to keep the venue at the top of that list.
