On August 15, the $337 million Powerball jackpot was won by a single ticket.  That ticket was sold at a gas station in Lapeer, Michigan.  Lapeer is about 50 miles north of Detroit.

The Michigan Lottery has announced that the winner has contacted them and will be introduced on Friday.

If taken as a lump sum the winner would receive $241 million after taxes.  It is the second Powerball winner in Michigan and the third largest in the games' history.

Winners of multi-state lotteries do not have the option to remain anonymous.  Winners of Michigan-only lottery games can choose to remain anonymous.
