Welcome to your new home, Holo Footwear Inc.

This shoe manufacturer HOLO Footwear Inc. is moving its headquarters from Portland, Oregon to downtown Grand Rapids.

Before choosing Grand Rapids as its new home, the minority-owned company headquarters had potential locations in North Carolina and Oregon with help from Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and The Right Place.

The MEDC gave a $250,000 performance-based grant to help HOLO bring its HQ to West Michigan. Thank you MEDC! In a statement, CEO Quentin Messer Jr. described the company's move as a

"win for West Michigan and for the entire state."

The company's headquarter project is planned to be located at 50 Louis St. NW in downtown Grand Rapids. HOLO founder Rommel Vega believed that West Michigan was a good fit for the new headquarters due to access to industry experts and talent.

In a statement, Vega said

"It's a fantastic environment for our business, with access to talented designers and people from the footwear industry. We're excited to get to work to create stylish, responsible, and functional outdoor footwear."

According to Governor Gretchen Whitmer, HOLO's move

will create at least 61 good-paying jobs in West Michigan and help our state's economy keep putting one foot in front of the other."

HOLO Footwear Inc. started back in 2020. They focus on sustainability and utilize recycled material for their products. The company also strives to make sure that its shoes are affordable with prices ranging from $50 to $100.

HOLO has started the hiring process for its e-commerce positions. So, if you are looking for a nice paying job, keep your eyes and ears locked.
