Where Can The Mature Grand Rapids Crowd Go For A Good Time?

Grand Rapids is blessed with some pretty cool bars, restaurants and clubs to have a good time.

But as we all age, our tastes change, the crowd at the bar/restaurant gets younger and younger, and you are feeling a little out of it and more uncomfortable.

You are not getting older of course, you are just becoming more experienced, so to speak, and you would feel much more comfortable being around "your crowd!"

1. Billy's Lounge

What most people love about Eastown's Billy's are the drinks and bands. Food, not so much, just bar snacks.

2. Shepard's Grill and Tavern

A nice neighborhood, hidden gem of a place people say with good food and drinks.

3. The Anchor

Folks who have been to the Anchor say it is the quintessential dive bar. The Anchor certainly has a diverse crowd, great staff and lots of stories.

4. The Commons

The Commons, with it's 70s basement style, is described as another Grand Rapids hidden gem in the Oakwood Apartments on Cherry. They have brunch, lunch and dinner.

5. The Log Cabin

It's called a blue collar dive bar with a log cabin theme with good food, drinks and fun karaoke nights.

6. River City Saloon

People really like the well priced bar food at this popular dive bar. Pool tables, live music and comedy Wednesday's make it a fun spot.

7. Cork Wine & Grille

A more upscale place at Watermark Country Club that is open to all. Food never disappoints, drinks are great with a wonderful wine selection in a warm welcoming atmosphere.

8. Bold

Bold is considered a top spot for a cigar and a cocktail. Their humidor has a high end selection of cigars to pair with your bourbon.

9. Max's South Seas Hideaway

A totally unique restaurant and bar in Grand Rapids. Some have described it as a Michigan extension of Disney World Polynesian Resort and the Enchanted Tiki Room. Don't let the exterior fool you. Step inside and you're in another world.

10. Duke's

Duke's is described as a solid dive bar with good bartenders and a decent selection of food.
