Grand Rapids is blessed with some pretty cool bars, restaurants and clubs to have a good time.

But as we all age, our tastes change, the crowd at the bar/restaurant gets younger and younger, and you are feeling a little out of it and more uncomfortable.

The Commons, with it's 70s basement style, is described as another Grand Rapids hidden gem in the Oakwood Apartments on Cherry. They have brunch, lunch and dinner.

5. The Log Cabin

A more upscale place at Watermark Country Club that is open to all. Food never disappoints, drinks are great with a wonderful wine selection in a warm welcoming atmosphere.

9. Max's South Seas Hideaway

A totally unique restaurant and bar in Grand Rapids. Some have described it as a Michigan extension of Disney World Polynesian Resort and the Enchanted Tiki Room. Don't let the exterior fool you. Step inside and you're in another world.
