Today West Michigan gets funnier, at least until March 17th, as the ninth annual LaughFest kicks off benefiting Gilda’s Club.

For the next 11 days, numerous activities and comedy performances will be taking place around Grand Rapids, some being free and some needing tickets ahead of time.

As part of the kickoff, you may have seen #YELLOWUP along with people wearing yellow, as they bring awareness to the festival and try to win tickets.  YES, if you’re wearing yellow, smile, take a pic and share it on social with #YellowUp

You can also stop by Rosa Parks Circle until 3 pm for the kickoff party which is free to participate in.  According to WOODTV, there’s plenty of activities, some comedians, music and Patty Matters (food truck) set up, if you want to sneak out of work to play.

Also if you’re downtown and want to get LaughFest merch or need to purchase tickets, you can stop by the Laughfest HQ at 101 Ottawa Ave NW.

You can also get more info on the events happening during LaughFest HERE.

BTW, it’s all for a good cause as LaughFest benefits Gilda’s Club, which in case you’re unfamiliar,

Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids provides free emotional healthcare to children, adults, families, and friends on any kind of cancer journey or those grieving the death of someone in their life due to any cause.
