New West Michigan Beer Raising Money for Children’s Burn Camp
New Holland Brewing's The Knickerbocker and the Grand Rapids Fire Department's Bridge Street Fire Station have announced they are collaborating on a new beer to benefit Great Lakes Burn Camp.
Great Lakes Burn Camp promotes healing, self-esteem and confidence for burn injured children. The camp runs entirely on donations and fundraisers. Money raised allows campers to experience a week of summer camp and a four-day winter camp with no out-of-pocket expense.
On Oct. 11th, there will be a launch party for the beer at The Knickerbocker. The beer, named by the Bridge St. Fire Station, is called ‘Hose 'er Down’. It is a Red Pale Ale with "a balanced, hop-forward flavor."
$1 from every Hose ‘er Down will go to Great Lakes Burn Camp. Also, 10 percent of food sales on Oct. 11 will go to the camp.
